When I decided to build a hand spinning flock, my husband bought me 5 Finn Sheep for my birthday. They were my very first sheep. The fleece is soft with a notable crimp much like Blue Face Leicester in appearance. The sheep come in a wide variety of fleece colors: black, brown, tan, white, fawn and piebald. Their fleece is in the fine end of the medium wool category. A lustrous 22 to 30 micron, the moderate crimp in the 4 -6 inch staple creates a soft, lofty yarn. Great for spinning and felting, the fiber takes dye beautifully.
This roving is white. It has a small amount of vm.
