I have been intrigued with how early settlers created beautiful colors using plant materials. The humble skin of onions yield a remarkably stable and color fast yellow. I carefully collected the paper thin skins of onions large and small to create the dye for this tonal yarn. This is a single strand rather than a plied yarn. This superfine Merino yarn is superwash and resists felting.
400+ yards per 100 g skein.
Recommended care: hand wash and lay flat to dry. Superwash yarns are machine washable on the gentle cycle in cool water and can be machine dried on low heat.
This yarn was dyed using the dye I created from my kitchen.
My studio is a smoke free and pet friendly environment.
The accuracy of the color in the photographs is influenced by my camera and your monitor.
